About the Role
As a Founding Data Engineer (Customer-Facing), you’ll operate at the intersection of data engineering and real-world clinical impact.
You’ll work directly with biotech teams to turn fragmented, messy clinical trial data into dashboards and visualizations that guide real-world decision-making. You’ll join customer meetings, understand trial goals, and then own the hands-on SQL/Python work to surface clean, actionable insights.
This isn’t internal analytics. You’ll own external delivery, respond to urgent questions, build reusable workflows, and work closely with the CEO to reimagine how biotech teams make data-driven decisions in clinical trials.

What You’ll Do
- Build data workflows and visualizations for clinical trials using SQL and Python
- Translate raw data from clinical trial systems into clean, actionable insights
- Work closely with CEO and engineering team to align product direction with end user workflows
- Own onboarding for new clinical trials: align on timelines, spin up visualizations and dashboards, and ensure users can act on insights quickly
- Join weekly customer meetings to understand evolving trial priorities, share progress, and gather feedback firsthand
- Templatize data solutions to scale analytics across the biopharma industry
What You’ll Need to succeed:
- Fluency in SQL and Python: You can wrangle messy data and build dashboards that actually drive decisions
- Customer-facing comfort: You’ve worked with stakeholders or customers, and know how to ask the right questions to clarify needs
- Proven ability to own technical deliverables independently, especially in high-velocity environments
- You’re proactive, resourceful, and don’t need hand-holding. You’re reliable, ask smart questions, and ship fast
- Experience working in clinical trials, life sciences, or regulated data environments is a plus, but not required
